Every year in October, the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA) holds a national convention. The convention serves as a place for dairy goat breeders to meet, celebrate the end of the year and show season, participate in classes/lectures, as well as fun events. At the convention, ADGA also sponsors a Bath Care Competition, which involves a myriad of body products – soap, lotion, etc – that are made from goat milk.
We entered several of our bars in the competition this year and we were privileged enough to win a ribbon for our fabulous soap! Our Udderly Naked Bar won 1st Place for Unscented Bar Soap, beating out several other competitors soaps. We were also the only Idaho-based company to win, a fact that means a lot to us since the National Convention was held in Idaho’s capital – Boise.
When we made this bar of soap, we were setting out to make a perfectly simple bar of soap that combined 100% raw goat milk with natural oil, with no additional synthetic products. What we created was our Udderly Naked Bar, which is a perfectly simple bar of soap! Check out this bar of soap, which is 100% fragrance and colorant free, in our shop on Etsy (https://www.etsy.com/listing/237357382/).
Earlier this summer, we also entered several of our bars of goat milk soap into the soap competition at the North Idaho Fair. Our vibrantly colored Pursuit of Sunshine Soap took 2nd Place in the Fragranced Soap Category. Check it – and our Udderly Naked Soap, as well as our other bars of soap – out in our Shop on Etsy (https://www.etsy.com/shop/2GOATsoap).
